As I said, I was living in a small city (no gym facilities at that time) and I had no choice, so I used what I had. Well, it wasn't bad at all. I did the basics and that is what I do to this day. I still remember how hard it was to find body-building and fitness magazines. Almost everything I learned, I did by looking and reading body-building and fitness magazines. Then, I got some tapes from an Olympia competition (The biggest event in body-building and fitness) and I watched it over and over again; and I tried to learn how to pose, how to present myself on the stage. From the beginning, I looked at body-building as an art. I believe and I hope that I can prove now, that body-building is a great sport for women, a great sport which can shape your body the way you imagine or want. Body-building is even more then that to me. It is a lifestyle, it is a positive choice. When I was 22 years old, my mom died and it felt like I lost everything. My mom was everything to me, my guide through life and my best friend. It was the saddest and the hardest time of my life. I survived and moved on. I continued to live, to work, and to grow to create my life. Once again, by working out, I overcame the pain that I felt. After 5-6 years of exercising, I began competing. |
